A fun and fancy Italian restaurant has just opened a brand new location in a new area of Toronto, located right downtown.
Oretta started out on King West, with a gorgeous dining room decked out in pastel and jewel tones with sky-high ceilings where you can dig into Italian favourites like pizza, pasta, aperitivo and more.
Italian dishes on the menu include iconic options such as pastas like spaghetti alla pomodoro, cavatelli alla vodka and pappardelle bolognese, pizzas including Margherita, mortadella and burrata. For classic mains, there’s chicken piccata, pork chop Milanese, branzino and eggplant parm. They also serve a selection of antipasti, salads, crudo dishes and sides, and a family-style chef’s tasting menu of seven dishes.
In addition to their traditional Italian fare, they’re also known for their Italian take on brunch with bottomless mimosas.
When it comes to their brunch, they serve items that put an Italian spin on brunch staples with options such as scrambled eggs with burrata, black truffle and toasted focaccia, tiramisu French toast with amaro maple syrup, and a “GLT” sandwich with guanciale instead of bacon, lettuce, tomato, sliced turkey breast and romaine on pullman loaf.
Locations of Oretta also double as a cafe space where you can quickly pick up coffee and Italian pastries such as cannoli, cornetto pastries and panini sandwiches.
The restaurant also has another location in midtown, but they’re not stopping there and have just opened a brand new restaurant right downtown. The new space was 14 months in the making, but around the beginning of the month they finally swung open their doors to the new downtown location of Oretta.
A post announcing the new location of Oretta would be opening in downtown Toronto the next day garnered over 500 likes and nearly 50 comments on Instagram from people excited about the new opening, with many people reaching out to congratulate the Oretta team on their brand new restaurant space.
The new location of Oretta is similar to the others in style, with lots of rich tones, textures and materials, all tied together by Oretta’s signature glossy sheen.
The chef de cuisine for the new Oretta location is Darren Couto, who had already been working as a chef at Oretta’s location in midtown.
The other locations of Oretta can be found at 633 King St. W and in midtown at 2131 Yonge St.
Oretta’s new location is now open to the public at 160 Front St. W.
