A popular Halloween pop-up bar is returning to Toronto this fall, and it’s a great excuse to get your creep on.
Black Lagoon is a pop-up bar that actually got its start in Toronto, the brainchild of Toronto bartender Kelsey Ramage along with Chicago hospitality expert Erin Hayes.
The pop-up has ballooned in popularity and now tours 35 locations across North America, bringing its goth vibes and eerie drinks from town to town.
Black Lagoon is an immersive experience where you can wear your Halloween costume or most goth looks and try innovative cocktails themed around all things scary and gory. Sometimes you can even expect other elements like tarot readers and drag burlesque performers. Regular emo nights are usually part of the pop-ups.

This year, the Toronto pop-up is returning to the bar where it was previously held, Bar Mordecai on Dundas West.
“Toronto was our very first city! We couldn’t be more stoked to be passing the (broomstick emoji) over to Bar Mordecai,” reads a social media post from Black Lagoon.
“They killed decor and of course drinks last year and we heard they’re going bigger and better than ever this October!”
Reservations are not necessarily required as these pop-ups are first come, first served.
The Black Lagoon Pop-up will be taking place at Bar Mordecai from Oct. 16 to 31.
