A craft beer brand will soon be opening a physical brick-and-mortar brewery of their own in Toronto.

Bickford Brewing has been making award-winning craft beer, starting out in a basement between a dryer and a furnace. Now, their brewing operation is about to get a serious upgrade.

Andrew McCready first started brewing beer back when he was primarily working as an audio engineer, and began winning prizes in homebrew contests. He’s known for two varieties of beer made with local ingredients: a Dog Park Pale Ale and a Grace Street Stout.

The beers have previously been available at local bottle shops and through pop-ups, but now they’ll have a home of their own.

Signs are now up for a permanent location for Bickford Brewing in Harbord Village. A post about the new location on Instagram has dozens of excited comments from people who can’t wait for it to open.

They’re hoping to be dog-friendly and install a patio at the location. The spot should encompass a 26-seat taproom and a small retail store, and there should be way more than two kinds of beer available to drink. They’re hoping to have options like IPAs, ESBs, pale ales, blonde ales, stouts and sour goses. There should be some snack options, and the option to order food off the menu from nearby Bicyclette.

Bickford Brewing is aiming to open at 292 Harbord St. around August.
