Where and when to see the biggest stars at TIFF in Toronto

The Toronto International Film Festival often attracts big-name celebrities and 2025 is no exception.

The festival is a chance to see some of the best films before they hit theatres or streaming sites—there are plenty of buzz-worthy movies on the schedule—but it can also be a fun time for stargazing.

The 50th anniversary event runs from Sept. 4 to 14 in the heart of Toronto’s entertainment district.

This year, there are 291 films (209 features, six classics, 10 primetime, and 66 shorts).

Here are some film premieres that are expected to have stars in attendance:

Thursday, Sept. 4

Film: John Candy: I Like Me

Celebrities: Ryan Reynolds, Catherine O’Hara and director Colin Hanks

Friday Sept. 5
