One of Oakville’s most popular waterfront restaurants, Bronte Boathouse, is getting even better this summer.
Known for a wide array of popular dishes, cocktails, and a resort-like dining experience, the Bronte-area restaurant at 2340 Ontario St. is an idyllic spot to enjoy their seasonal menu while it lasts.
Reservations can be made online.
The patio is perfect for diners who want to enjoy their meal with a gorgeous view of the water, especially from the corner area of the patio affectionately known as the “sunset corner”, which is the best spot to enjoy a truly picturesque view of the summer sun going down. With such gorgeous views, the entire patio is best suited to date nights and intimate dinners with friends, family and loved ones.
The restaurant’s location also makes it an ideal spot to dine while enjoying Oakville’s waterfront – before or after the meal, take a stroll around the harbour, check out the nearby parks and trails, or watch the lake and catch a glimpse of paddle boarders, seadoos, boats and the marina.
While Bronte Boathouse’s menu aims to please all year round, their seasonal menu includes some delicious favourites, with an extensive number of dishes to cover any craving.
Here are some of the most popular and recommended dishes currently on the menu:
Baja Fish Tacos: One of the restaurant’s most popular starters, these soft-shell tacos are filled with perfectly crispy haddock and pineapple pico de gallo for a taste that’s both sweet and savoury.
Hand-Rolled Sushi: Enjoy a Japanese-inspired taste with Bronte Boathouse’s hand-rolled sushi, another popular signature at the restaurant. The sushi menu has both classic rolls (such as spicy salmon rolls and veggie rolls with yam tempura), as well as original creations like the Lakeshore Roll (shrimp tempura and crab with cucumber, avocado, sticky rice, tobiko and house BBQ sauce).
Bubba’s Big Burger: You can’t go wrong with a juicy and flavourful burger. This mouth-watering all-beef patty is served on a toasted bun and topped with thinly sliced onions, double American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and house sauce. You can customize your burger with extra pickles, a Beyond Meat patty, and/or a gluten-free bun.
Pizzas: When you’re looking for something delicious to share around the table, Bronte Boathouse’s selection of Detroit-style, deep dish pizzas are an excellent option. Popular picks include their classic Queen Margarita (San Marzano tomato sauce, shredded mozzarella, basil pesto, Grana Padano and olive oil) and ultra savoury Meatlovers pizza (San Marzano tomato sauce, pepperoni, bacon, soprasetta and mozzarella). For those who want something sweeter, they even have a pizza that features roasted peaches and chilli honey.
Fresh Salads and Bowls: There are a wide variety of fresh salads and bowls on the menu to satisfy that craving for something both delicious and healthy. Popular options include the Caesar Salad, Sushi Bowl featuring spicy raw salmon, and Glow Bowl featuring grilled chicken and veggies. All salads and bowls can be customized with the addition of chicken or black tiger shrimp.
Specialty Cocktails: Pair your meal with a drink from the restaurant’s extensive selection of sweet and refreshing cocktails, including ice-cold slushie cocktails that are perfect for enjoying on the patio during warm summer days. Three of their most recommended cocktails include:
- Watermelon Margarita: Tequila, triple sec, fresh watermelon juice, lime, tajin rim
- Frozé All Day: Frozen strawberry and peach slush, rosé wine, vodka
- Tipsy Mermaid: Spiced rum, coconut rum, pineapple juice, lime juice, blue curaçao
Other drinks on the menu include a selection of red, white and sparkling wine, beer, cider, coolers, and non-alcoholic options.
The restaurant’s dessert menu includes a decadent slice of key lime pie and chocolate torte topped with whipped cream – and it’s also located in the same building as the popular Duckies Dairy Bar, so you can grab some delicious ice cream right after your meal.
Everything is picturesque at Bronte Boathouse, from the food and drinks to the restaurant’s gorgeous interior and the breathtaking views from the patio. It’s a truly Instagrammable experience, so be sure to snap some pics!
During summer and beyond, Bronte Boathouse remains a fantastic spot for events of all kinds, and can easily accommodate larger groups – reservations for up to 10 people can be made on the restaurant’s website.
Bronte Boathouse is open every day from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. for indoor dining and patio dining (patio dependent on the weather).
The patio is open until the end of September, so don’t miss out! Wear a hat, slather on some sunscreen, and enjoy one of the finest waterfront dining experiences Oakville has to offer.
