Spring is in the air for Toronto later this week.
It has been a brutal winter with a record snowfall, freezing rain and multiple cold warnings. There was even a cold warning this morning in parts of southern Ontario.
The official first day of spring is March 20, but many parts of southern Ontario could experience spring-like weather later this week and into next week.
A high of around -5 C was expected on Monday in the Greater Toronto Area, according to Environment Canada. On Tuesday, the temperature increases to 1 C with a chance of snow, then highs of 5 C are expected on Wednesday and Thursday.
Things start to heat up on Friday when a high of 7 C is forecast with a chance of rain.
Double-digit temperatures are on tap for the weekend. Environment Canada forecasts a high of 11 C on Saturday with a chance of rain, and a high of 10 C on Sunday.
Into next week, a high of 9 C is forecast for Monday, March 9 and 13 C for Tuesday, March 10, according to the Weather Network. Of course, forecasts are subject to change, particularly if they are far into the future.
But it looks like that snow may finally melt.
