In many of Toronto’s most luxurious hotels, you don’t have to be a guest to visit the pool, spa or high-end restaurants regularly–you can live an elevator ride away.

Recently, two spacious properties in two of the city’s swankiest five-star hotels–The Hazelton Hotel and the Four Seasons–sold for over $7 million each.

Needless to say, those price points are well (well!) beyond Toronto’s average home price (as of July) of $1,044,576.

Interestingly enough, both Yorkville hotels are relatively new, with the Hazelton Hotel opening in 2007 and the Four Seasons opening in 2012. While the Ritz-Carlton, Toronto is the city’s first big-name five-star hotel, it’s not the first hotel with a five-star rating. That honour goes to the Hazelton, which is Canada’s first and only Forbes Five-Star independent luxury boutique hotel in Toronto.

The four-storey hotel offers just 77 rooms, with rates starting around $600 a night. The Hazelton Hotel itself changed hands in April 2023 for $110 million (which comes out to $1.4 million per room), according to Monique Rosszell, senior managing partner with Hospitality Valuation Services, a global consulting firm that specializes in hospitality.

Rosszell also told YourCityWithIN.com that the Four Seasons–a brand that actually got its start in Toronto long before the current 60 Yorkville Ave. building took shape–sold for $225 million (about  $869,000 a room) in 2016. The 55-storey hotel and residence boasts 259 hotel rooms and 210 private condominium units.

Here’s a look at the two units, courtesy of real estate website and brokerage Zoocasa:

4001 – 50 Yorkville Ave

This stunning, modern and chic 2,800-square-foot unit in the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel and Residence in Toronto’s swanky Yorkville neighbourhood has a new owner. The three-bedroom, four-bathroom condo sold for $7,525,000 last month, after being listed for $8,295,000. The unit boasts a private elevator, a custom-designed kitchen with high-end appliances, marble slab floors, built-in speakers, special lighting and more.

601 – 118 Yorkville Ave

Classic and full of elegant and traditional finishes, another unit located inside a prestigious Toronto hotel has changed hands. The four-bedroom, six-bedroom, 5,200-square-foot unit in Yorkville’s Hazel Hotel sold for $7,350,000 after being listed for $7,750,000.

The suite boasts floor-to-ceiling windows, south-facing balconies, a library, spacious bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and access to a number of hotel amenities, including concierge services and valet parking.
