Tragedy has struck Toronto, as downtown’s official Labubu meet-up has been postponed.
The event was initially scheduled to take place this upcoming Saturday, August 9, at Union Station’s summer patio.
For the uninitiated, Labubus are a recent viral craze in which a figurine of a creature with a hard vinyl face hangs from clothing or accessories as a keychain.
These collectables — in their recent surge in popularity — have been showcased by celebrities and musicians alike, and are sometimes accessorized by those who own them.
Due to the overwhelming response to the event, Union Station officials have had to postpone the Toronto Labubu Meet-up, citing increasing concerns over facility capacity.
Guests were initially scheduled to arrive at the event to trade and accessorize Labubus with like-minded owners.
At the time of publication, no official word has been relayed by Union Station on when the event will be rescheduled, if at all.
