Toronto restaurant from Michelin chef to host Christmas Eve dinner

Toronto’s newest restaurant from a Michelin-starred chef is hosting a Christmas Eve dinner service.

Tono, which launched in October to much fanfare, is the culmination of the expertise of renowned chef Akira Black, who was awarded a Michelin star for his restaurant, Dosa, in Seoul, South Korea.

On top of Tono, Black also currently operates the Akira Back Restaurant at the Bisha Hotel downtown here in the big city.

In terms of tomorrow’s festive programming, courses will be built on Tono’s foundation principle of ‘Nikkei Cuisine,’ a hybrid take on both Peruvian and Japanese culinary staples, helmed by Black and his team.

Tono’s booking extension for the upcoming Dec. 24 dinner indicates that guests will be able to “savour, celebrate and indulge in an unforgettable five-course menu that reimagines festive dining.”

Tono is located on the ninth-floor rooftop of the W Hotel in Yorkville.

For those looking to take a shot at the festive evening of culinary excellence, Tono’s official Instagram promises “cocktails glowing and sushi shining,” while at the same time, encouraging interested parties to act fast, as the “Christmas Eve Dinner is almost fully booked.”
