Toronto is getting a new outdoor spring festival this month

Toronto is getting a spring festival at a trendy open-air market downtown.

STACKT Market, a popular icon of explorable shipping crates, has been operating as Toronto’s go-to outdoor shopping and dining megaplex for some time — and it’s no stranger to seasonal programming.

Whether it’s holiday festivals or summertime sit-down barbeques, the location has always had a rotating collection of seasonal retailers, restauranteurs and mixologists for guests to enjoy.

To celebrate the coming of spring, STACKT is shifting gears a bit and is launching a weeklong event with its Spring Equinox celebration.

Poised to feature numerous family-friendly events, this free celebration is one of the few places in the city to properly celebrate the end of what many have deemed a long and snowy winter.

Kicking off with some St. Patrick’s Day programming, such as the Shamrock Social, an evening of outdoor folk music and drink specials, things start to really ramp up as the week progresses.

Events dotted throughout include puppy yoga, mini donuts, play rooms, and more.

There is even a ‘pitch-a-friend’ event where guests gather via tongue-in-cheek presentations, where they pitch their friends to the crowd in hopes of diversifying their social crowd or nabbing them a romantic prospect.

Live music events, art classes, and much more are also scattered throughout the festival, celebrating spring and encouraging those who have been cooped up all winter to get as much mileage as possible out of the city they call home.

The STACKT Spring Equinox is set to run from March 17 to March 18.

Programming information is available on their website.
