Toronto is debuting a 23,000 sq ft restaurant with a retractable rooftop this weekend.

Queen’s Harbour — according to an official release — aims to inject cutting-edge modern design and atmosphere in Toronto’s waterfront area this summer.

According to representatives, the 800-seat location has been built on a foundation of both Mediterranean and Asian culinary influences alongside a dynamic chef-forward menu, allowing for further innovation behind the scenes.

Queen’s Harbour is set to provide the public with new innovative dining spaces, as upon entry, guests will be met with a massive grand bar opening up to cascading trees, table spaces, and floor-to-ceiling windows.

“We saw an opportunity to create something that naturally evolves throughout the day while offering a new restaurant concept to a city that appreciates more than a meal,” said Kevin Jazexhi, one of the Queen’s Harbour founders, in an official statement.

In the heart of the space is an open kitchen and sushi bar, where, according to the release, guests can see dishes being prepared in real-time with expert precision.

Outside of the main dining area is the Queen’s Garden, described as a two-level dining space with a retractable roof that combines the best of both indoor and outdoor dining.

“We wanted to ensure a quality experience, and Queens Harbour offers one that is one-of-a-kind and deeply connected to Toronto,” adds Iris Jazexhi, another founder behind Queen’s Harbour.

Representatives also indicated that the menu focuses on the sensations that come with a shared dining experience, specifically designed around staples such as sushi, seafood towers and shareable courses.

Quests can also anticipate a comprehensive beverage and cocktail program.

“At Queens Harbour, hospitality and creating a sense of belonging are our driving objectives. Our culinary approach focuses on flavours designed to captivate the palate,” said Ali Badreddine, the third founder of Queen’s Harbour, in an official statement.

Queen’s Harbour is anticipated to open to the public this Friday, July 11.
