Several perks come with staying in a more luxurious hotel, and one of those is undoubtedly the on-site spa, which typically offers guests a range of treatments, including facials, body wraps, hot stone massages, and spacious hot tubs.

While Canada has no shortage of hotel spas, it appears one facility in Toronto has been declared the best in Canada–and for the second year in a row.

Today, the Guerlain Spa Toronto, located in Hotel X, announced that it was named Canada’s Best Hotel Spa at the World Spa Awards. The awards, which recognized the Guerlain Spa last year, reward excellence in spa and wellness tourism through its annual awards programme.

The programme recognizes and awards spas in hotels, resorts and other facilities from around the world. This year, the Chenot Espace at One&Only Portonovi in Montenegro took the title of the world’s best hotel spa, while The Spa at Mandarin Oriental in Costa Navarino, Greece, was named the world’s best resort spa.

In a news release, the Guerlain Spa said the recognition “further cements Guerlain Spa Toronto as a national leader in the Canadian luxury wellness landscape.”

Other Canadian spas that walked away with awards include the Whistler Spa at Four Seasons Resort and Residences (best resort spa), Spa Eastman in Eastman, QC (best wellness retreat) and Strom Nordic Spa in Old Quebec (best day spa).

In a news release, Guerlain Spa said it offers guests an elevated retreat that “blends French elegance with modern wellness practices.” Using Parisian techniques taught exclusively in its training institutions, spa operators said it offers treatments that provide both results and relaxation.

According to the spa’s website, treatments available include facials, massages, body polishes, lymphatic drainage, hand and foot therapies, makeup application and more.

“Receiving this prestigious award a second year is truly an honour,” said Jennifer Loyola, director of Guerlain Spa Toronto, in a statement.

“This win is a testament to our talented team and their dedication to creating unforgettable experiences for each guest. Guerlain’s legacy in beauty and wellness inspires us every day, and we are proud to share that legacy here in Toronto.”

A combination of industry experts and public votes chooses winners of the World Spa Awards.
