Located on the Niagara Escarpment, the Conservation Area is at 14452 Winston Churchill Blvd., Halton Hills, about a 50-minute drive from Toronto.

The natural area is open year-round and features a hardwood forest, wetland, cross-country skiing, pond skating, sugar shack and maple syrup festival, amphitheatre and pavilions.

In winter, visitors can snowshoe, cross-country ski or hike the trails. Ice rinks, ski, snowshoe and kick sled rentals available if conditions allow. Visitors are also welcome to bring their own equipment.

The illuminated forest trail is open Saturdays in January and February (including Valentine’s Day) from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., weather permitting. No admittance is available after 8 p.m. as the experience takes a minimum of one hour to enjoy.

After the hike, visitors can warm up with a hot drink and snacks at the Park Store.

Registration is not required and regular park admission, $8.50 for adults, applies.

It’s free for Credit Valley Parks pass holders.
