August 23

Scoops by Demeteres

Local foodies at the Toronto branch of Dished announced they are partnering with Scoops by Demeteres to give away 100 free single scoops of ice cream.

2024 TAIWANfest Toronto: Becoming Me

The event explores history and culture through language, featuring programming such as Flamenco de Formosa, Taiwanese band Lilium, Hope Talks on Hakka and Hokkien history, along with food, films, workshops, an artist market and more.

When: Aug. 23 to Aug. 25

Glow in the Dark Paint Night

Participants can enjoy a self-guided, glow-in-the-dark art experience tailored to beginners and seasoned artists. The event provides a creative atmosphere with music, lighting, and glowing art supplies, including paints, markers, and canvases. Attendees have the freedom to create their artwork, using provided inspiration or their own imagination, and can take their finished pieces home.

Kidz Bop Live

FAN EXPO Canada 2024

Eataly’s Wine-around: The Italian Coast

This summer, Eataly is hosting a series of curated events focused on featured wines, perfect for aspiring wine connoisseurs. This month’s theme is “Italian Coasts,” offering a walk-around food and wine tasting that highlights wines from regions such as Tuscany, Amalfi, Apulia, and Sardinia. Guests can sample over 18 different wines from Italy’s coastal regions, learn from producers and experts, and enjoy a curated selection of salumi and cheeses inspired by regional fare.

Leslieville Block Fest

The event is free for the entire family, including dogs. There will also be plenty of contests and prizes. Attendees can even enjoy offerings from local brewers, community food vendors, and artisans.

It’s OK World

The event is part of the Summer Series at Ontario Place’s Trillium Park and will celebrate Black art, culture and music.

Pups in the Park

Presented by Toronto Downtown West BIA, this event celebrates International Dog Day in partnership with Doggie Fest Toronto. Attendees can meet local dog business owners, participate in prize giveaways and enjoy a family-friendly summer event.

Summer Music in the Garden

Harbourfront Centre’s 50th anniversary celebrations continue with live music at the Toronto Music Garden by the waterfront, taking place most Thursdays and Sundays throughout the summer. This summer marks the 23rd season of Summer Music in the Garden and the 25th anniversary of the Toronto Music Garden.
