Things to do this weekend in Mississauga: Sept. 19 to Sept. 21

While temperatures dip ever so slightly and the first hints of fall move in, Mississauga is keeping the energy high. This weekend brings everything from a butter tart market, food festivals, live concerts, art exhibits and magic shows.

Here is what’s happening from Sept. 19 to Sept. 21:

September 19

AfroCan – Roots & Rhythms Fest

The inaugural AfroCan – Roots & Rhythms Fest brings together the rich traditions of Africa and the Caribbean through food, music, and culture. More than 30 food vendors and 25 artisans will be on site, alongside live performances, a “sound clash,” games, and demonstrations that showcase vibrant heritage.

Giant Used Book Sale

The Mississauga Symphony Orchestra’s Giant Used Book Sale returns for its 30th year, offering thousands of books, vinyl records, CDs, DVDs, puzzles, board games, and sheet music. All proceeds support the orchestra’s concert season, youth programs, and special projects.

Mekaal Hasan Band Live in Concert

The world-renowned Mekaal Hasan Band takes the stage for an evening of Sufi Rock, joined by guest performers including Mujeeb Mustafa, Harsh Mehdi, Karam Shahbaz, and Vasu Bisht.

Flag Raising: Nepal Constitution Day

As part of the City’s Community Recognition Program, the national flag of Nepal will be raised at Civic Centre to mark Nepal Constitution Day. The initiative highlights Mississauga’s diverse cultures and builds community spirit through celebrations led by local charities and non-profits.

Arts on the Credit Mississauga

Arts on the Credit ArtWorks 2025 marks its 5th year with a bold new look, showcasing the work of more than 30 local artists and artisans.

Taste of Cooksville 2025

Taste of Cooksville returns with two days of global flavours, live entertainment, kids’ activities, giant inflatables and more.

Tea Time at Benares Historic House

Toronto–Mississauga Vinyl Record & Collectibles Show

The region’s largest record show returns with 60 vendors and nearly 100,000 vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes. Shoppers will also find books, posters, music memorabilia, and more from vendors across Ontario and Quebec.

2025 Walk N’ Roll 4 Mito Mississauga

The 10th annual Walk N’ Roll 4 Mito brings the community together to raise awareness and funds for mitochondrial disease. Participants can walk, run, cycle, or roll through Lake Aquitaine Park while enjoying activities including a silent auction, prizes, games, face painting, and more.
