The season may be shifting, but Mississauga is still buzzing with celebrations. This weekend brings a three-day Philippine festival and a Punjabi folk showcase, along with art markets, live music, literary events and historical reenactments across the city.

Here’s what’s on from Sept. 12 to Sept. 14:

September 12

Philippine Festival Mississauga

A three-day celebration of Filipino culture at Celebration Square featuring DJ night, live music, cultural dances, games, film screenings, and a singing contest. Visitors can enjoy authentic Filipino street foods, sweet treats, and savoury dishes while taking part in activities for all ages.

Indwell’s Mississauga Celebration Social

The Small Arms Inspection Building will host an evening focused on “Threads of Belonging,” bringing together Indwell supporters, tenants, volunteers, staff, dignitaries, sponsors, and businesses. The program includes speakers, interactive stations, and light appetizers while highlighting the future of supportive housing in Peel Region.

September 13

Back 2 Roots Festival 2025

The School of Indian Folk Arts & Tradition and Rooh Punjab Dee present Ontario’s largest Bhangra and Giddha celebration, featuring teams from around the world showcasing Punjabi folk arts through vibrant music and dance.

Mississauga’s Annual Literary Festival 2025

Hazel McCallion Central Library transforms into a hub for readers and writers with author talks, panels, industry-led workshops, community activities, and exhibitors across multiple floors.

My Bansuri Meet and Greet

A 15-member bansuri ensemble takes the stage for a rare live performance, followed by solo sets that highlight the unique sounds of the traditional flute.

Engagement at Bradley 2025

Heritage Mississauga and the 2nd Regiment of York Militia present a living history weekend with War of 1812 battle reenactments, Regency-era dancing, military encampments, historical demonstrations, crafts, local vendors, and food.

Figurative Expressions at Art in the Park Mississauga 2025

The Figurative Expressions Life Drawing Group joins Visual Arts Mississauga’s annual art market at Riverwood with life drawing demonstrations, a costumed model, and a community celebration of creativity. The event also features original hand-crafted works by artists, live music, food vendors, and hands-on workshops.

Lakeview Farmers’ & Artisan Market

Held at the historic Small Arms Inspection Building, this Sunday market features fresh local produce, artisan cheeses, preserves, baked goods, coffee, ready-to-eat meals and handmade creations.
