With warm weather setting in, Mississauga’s first weekend of May is the perfect excuse to step outside, breathe in the fresh air and explore what the city has to offer.

From bike trails and tree plantings to rap icons taking the stage, musicals, art exhibitions and family-friendly drop-ins, there’s something for everyone!

May 2

A City in Tune (April 24 to Aug. 3)

This exhibition celebrates Mississauga’s musical roots and future, showcasing how sound connects cultures, communities, and generations. Featuring artifacts, stories, Indigenous beadwork, and interactive displays, A City in Tune explores how music has helped shape the city’s identity.

Talib Kweli

The acclaimed Brooklyn-based MC brings his politically charged lyricism and iconic sound to the Living Arts Centre for one night only. Known for his work with Black Star, Reflection Eternal and collaborations with Kanye West, Madlib, and Pharrell, Talib Kweli continues to push boundaries in hip hop.

Beauty and the Beast (Cast B)

Ed Bassmaster Live in Characters

Presented by Theatre Unlimited Performing Arts

The award-winning musical based on Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist follows a hopeful orphan’s search for love and belonging. With unforgettable songs and iconic characters, Oliver! brings heart, humour, and Victorian grit to the stage.

One Million Trees Planting Event at Woodland Chase Trail

Help grow Mississauga’s tree canopy by planting native trees and shrubs with the One Million Trees program. Tools are provided and volunteer hours can be signed off for youth under 18.

Toronto Pearson Launch Ride

Kick off the season with a scenic 12 km Community Ride near Toronto Pearson, starting at Max Ward Park. This free ride is part of a City of Mississauga series running May to October, designed to explore local trails and bring cyclists together.

Canadian Chamber Orchestra in collaboration with Xenia Concerts
