From a two-day Japan Festival at Celebration Square to concerts, markets, circus shows, a try-a-sport event and other outdoor activities, Mississauga is packed with a variety of things to do.
Here’s what’s happening from Aug. 15 to 17:
August 15
Simplé
Simplé is a four-piece R&B, world music, and pop group blending Filipino kundiman, harana, and OPM classics with R&B anthems, bossa novas, and boleros. Their intimate, soulful performances honour musical traditions from the Philippines, Latin America, and beyond.

Flag Raising: India’s 79th Independence Day
Part of the City’s Community Recognition Program, this flag raising celebrates India’s 79th Independence Day, fostering community spirit and recognizing Mississauga’s diverse cultures.

Play in the Park
Play in the Park is a free, supervised outdoor drop-in program for children aged 6 to 12. Kids can enjoy organized games, crafts, sports, and themed activities in local neighbourhood parks. Programs are led by trained staff and run throughout the summer.

Learn to Fish
The Learn to Fish program offers a free two-hour experience that teaches new anglers how to fish in Ontario, combining one hour of practical instruction with one hour of supervised hands-on fishing. Registration is required.

Malton’s Aviation History
Presented by the Museums of Mississauga at the Malton Airport Gallery, this exhibit explores the roots of Mississauga’s aviation industry through rarely seen photographs from the city’s historic collection. Learn about the people, places and aircraft that helped build Malton’s aviation legacy.

Japan Festival Canada 2025
Japan Festival Canada marks its 10th anniversary with two days of live performances, authentic Japanese food, traditional arts, anime, pop culture and interactive cultural experiences at one of the largest Japanese cultural events in North America.

Papi AQ concert
Papi AQ blends Latin and Canadian influences to create a unique “Spanglish” sound. Drawing from personal hardships, he uses his music to inspire perseverance, ambition, and community connection.

Machico VIP and Meet-And-Greet

Royal Canadian Circus
