July may be over, but the final month of summer is just beginning, and it starts strong with a full weekend of events across Mississauga. From music festivals and cultural celebrations to creative workshops and outdoor games, there’s so much fun to be had!

Here’s what’s happening from August 1 to August 3:

August 1

Mosaic – South Asian Festival 2025

The Mosaic Festival returns to Celebration Square for its 20th anniversary, celebrating South Asian arts, culture and cuisine in a two-day free festival.

This year’s lineup features Sufi queen Harshdeep Kaur (India), Aima Baig (Pakistan), and Josh the Band (Canada).

First Friday in The ‘Ville

Head to the heart of Streetsville for First Fridays in The ‘Ville, where the Village Square transforms into a lively evening market on the first Friday of each month from June through September.

Browse handcrafted goods from over 25 vendors, enjoy small-batch food and drink, and take in live performances as part of the City of Mississauga’s Summer Music Concert Series.

School of Rock Streetsville House Band

The School of Rock Streetsville’s House Band showcases the school’s top student musicians, performing at international and local festivals. Their energy and talent bring classic rock to life for all ages.

Learn to Fish 2025

The Learn to Fish program is a free 2-hour experience that teaches new anglers how to fish in Ontario. Participants receive a 1-hour practical teaching session followed by 1 hour of supervised hands-on fishing. Registration is required.

Play in the Park

Play in the Park is a free, supervised outdoor drop-in program for children aged 6 to 12. Kids can enjoy organized games, crafts, sports, and themed activities in local neighbourhood parks. Programs are led by trained staff and run throughout the summer.

Canadian Ball Hockey Association Super Nationals

Visit Mississauga is hosting the Ontario Ball Hockey Federation (OBHF) Provincial Championships and the Canada Ball Hockey Association (CBHA) National Championships.

Flag Raising: Emancipation Day

This flag raising is part of the City’s Community Recognition Program, which supports events that celebrate Mississauga’s diversity, foster community spirit and enrich the quality of life.

The Pan-African flag will be flown at the Civic Centre to mark Emancipation Day.

A City in Tune: A Celebration of Music in Mississauga

This exhibition explores Mississauga’s vibrant musical history, showcasing local legends, grassroots movements, and the cultural threads that have shaped the city’s sound. Through stories, artifacts, and interactive displays, visitors can discover how music connects communities and reflects Mississauga’s evolving identity. Presented in partnership with the University of Toronto’s Master of Museum Studies program.

The Oz Escape: A Wicked Glitch

Step into the magical world of Oz in this outdoor escape-game-style experience. Solve clues, follow puzzles, and complete fun challenges across the city using your phone. Inspired by The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, this self-guided game is played at your own pace or against the clock. Costumes are welcome but optional.

Art of Joy / Art Exhibition and Workshop Fundraiser

Enjoy a full day of art, creativity, and community in support of cancer research. This event features an art exhibition with works from local artists, hands-on workshops, vendors and a community art wall.

Five and Tens

Named after the Mississauga highway intersection 5 & 10, Five and Tens are a four-piece instrumental band blending cinematic jazz, funk, soul, and hip-hop. Known for dynamic live performances, the group has built a strong following in Toronto and beyond.

Cung Dan Thoi Gian 2 – Mua He Dep Nhat

Presented by Sido Dang Buu Entertainment Inc., this Vietnamese music performance will be delivered entirely in Vietnamese.

The Carson Freeman Diversion Project

Award-winning saxophonist Carson Freeman brings his signature smooth jazz style to the stage. Known for collaborations with Michael Bublé, Corey Hart, and Andy Kim, Freeman is a celebrated figure in Canada’s jazz and pop music scenes.
