If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, look no further — you could paint something awesome with a glass of wine in hand very soon!
A few companies do paint nights – notably “Paint Nite” – and now, Visual Arts Brampton has put a twist on their own paint nights right here in Brampton. And the next one is happening this Saturday, November 25, at 7 p.m.
Basically, a paint night is where an art instructor guides a crowd through creating a painting at a bar, pub, or restaurant, paint, brushes and canvas are included in the ticket price, and everyone orders drinks throughout the evening.
Now, Visual Arts Brampton is hosting Bring Your Own Beer or Bottle of Wine/Champagne (BYOB) paint nights from their location at 1 Bartley Bull Parkway, Unit 10, for $25 a night once a month until next July.
That’s right, Brampton — boozy paint nights are here to stay for a little while!
There are only two things you need to bring, and those are yourself and either some beer or a bottle of wine or champagne.
You’ll be provided with a canvas, brushes, an apron, paints, a palette on the painting end, and glasses, cups, bottle openers, corkscrews, and even a refrigerator on the drinking end.
Whether or not you’re good at art, if you’re over 19 years old, you’re invited.
“Our easy, step-by-step, instructor led paint nights are for everyone – even if you’ve never touched a brush in your life! We want to show you that anyone can paint (and have fun while doing it!)” say BYOB Paint Night organizers.
Here’s the upcoming schedule and list of paintings from Visual Arts Brampton’s website:
- November 25 – Vibrant Fall Foliage
- December 30 – Celebrate New Years
- January 27 – Painting & Mixed Media
- February 24 – Still Life
- March 31 – Silhouette of Your Pet
- April 28 – Pastels
- May 26 – Spring Landscape
- June 30 – Aurora Borealis
- July 28 – Summer Fun
All of these are Saturdays from 7-9 p.m., and could be a fun new addition to your weekends.
Typically, paint nights are a good way to relax and indulge in some self-care. People of all skill levels are invited and can adjust their painting to their own skill level.
“All you need to do is enjoy the creative journey,” say organizers.
So, if you want a new experience, a way to relax, a fun night out, and a beautiful painting (yours!) to take home, definitely snag a ticket.
Drink and paint on, Brampton!
