Scugog Beer & Cider Festival returns to Port Perry lakefront

The re-named Scugog Beer & Cider Festival returns to Palmer Park in Port Perry this weekend.
After six successful events as the Port Perry Craft Beer Festival, the best the Port Perry-Scugog area has to offer in breweries, cideries and grassroots musical talent is back on the Port Perry waterfront for two days of live music, food trucks and, of course, delicious craft beverages.
This annual event (save for the two pandemic years) is presented by Great Blue Heron Casino & Hotel and will be held Friday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.
By day, guests will experience a grassroots musical afternoon. By night organizers are lighting up the gazebo with an urban street vibe filled with the sounds of The Doozies (headlining Friday) and Red Cup Country (the main stage act Saturday). Other musical acts this weekend include Mike Latimer, The Moment, Zac Honey and Dirt Squirrel Allstars.
Tickets are $30 (Friday), $35 (Saturday) and $60 (weekend pass) and include a commemorative glass beer stein and two drink tokens. Scugog Arts is also running a label design contest with the winning design featured at next year’s festival.
There will also be food trucks (The Sandwich Shack, Lowlands Fire Food and Stuttering John’s Smokehouse) and games (Giant Jenga and Connect Four) for attendees to enjoy.
Despite adding ‘Cider’ to the festival name, there is only one cidery on the vendor list this year – Two Blokes Cider – from three last year.
