Several new restaurants opened in Brampton in 2022, but unfortunately, others were forced to close their doors.

As a result, many residents had to say goodbye to some beloved restaurants in the city.

Here are the restaurant closures from 2022 in Brampton.

Aria Bistro & Lounge

This year, Brampton’s most popular fine dining restaurant closed its doors for good.

For almost 10 years, the restaurant provided a culinary experience with gourmet entrees, freshly baked in-house bread, soups, salads and desserts.

The restaurant was located in the historic house of Walter E. Calvert at 485 Main St. N and featured six private dining rooms.

The restaurant was known for its elegant dishes and extensive wine list as part of its commitment to offering “the finest experience in hospitality and dining.”

J Red & Co.

This year marked the end of an era for a popular downtown restaurant in Brampton.

J. Red & Co. closed its doors permanently on July 23, 2022, after going through an “unprecedented couple of years.”

Throughout the seven years in service, the restaurant’s menu often changed but was best known for its selection of appetizers, burgers, pizzas, chicken and waffles and more.

The restaurant also regularly featured live music and entertainment.

Uncle Bob’s Country Buffet

Uncle Bob’s Country Buffet in Brampton also permanently closed its doors this year.

The buffet-style restaurant located at 227 Vodden St East closed down in March 2020 “after carefully reviewing the COVID-19 recommendations” from the Region of Peel.

While the post initially stated that the closure was going to be temporary, the restaurant eventually shut down for good this year.
