An iconic Toronto bar is keeping its doors open for Christmas Eve this year.
The Communist’s Daughter, a renowned location on the corner of Dundas and Ossington, is leaving its lights on and keeping its drinks flowing for its West End community during the iconic holiday.
Announced via the location’s Instagram, the ‘Commie Christmas Eve’ will run on Dec. 24.

Hosted by Michael Louis Jonson, known for the location’s ‘DcideontheBside’ series, where guests bring vinyl to play and vote on rotating selections curated by the neighbourhood, this upcoming festive event is sure to light up the night.
However, unlike usual programming at The Communist’s Daughter, in keeping with the holiday theme, the official event post stated, “No jukebox, no vinyl, we got songbooks.”
The Commie Christmas Eve is set to run from 7 p.m. until the bar closes on Dec. 24, so guests can make it back in time for Santa.
