Second Cup coffee shop has served its last cup of coffee at Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga–at least for now.

The popular Canadian cafe, which is headquartered in Mississauga, has closed down its once-bustling shop inside Square One after serving customers there for the better part of the last 40 years.

An online search of the Second Cup Square One location turns up only a notification that the shop is “permanently closed.”

It’s not clear exactly when the shop closed at Square One, but as recently as a month or so ago customers were leaving comments related to service on Google reviews.

Founded in Toronto in 1975, the popular chain underwent a rapid expansion in the 1980s and Square One was among locations that caught the early wave of growth.

Today, Second Cup operates more than 190 cafes across Canada and has franchises in the U.S. and a host of other countries around the world.
