If you regularly shop at a popular cosmetics store, you might be disappointed to hear that the brand appears to be no more (at least for now) following a bizarre social media post.
Deciem, which calls itself “the abnormal beauty company,” has seemingly shuttered all of its Toronto-area locations, including its Square One store in Mississauga.
In a recent Instagram post, Deciem CEO Brandon Truaxe says that the company is shutting down and that almost every employee is somehow involved in criminal activity.
“This is the final post from Deciem,” Truaxe says from the back of a vehicle in the video. “We will shut down all operations until further notice.”
Truaxe goes on to make more strange claims.
“Without filters. A revolution is coming. Every one of you who has been laughing aT me will with certainty face criminal prosecution,” he wrote in the post.
The lengthy post goes on to mention a number of high-profile companies and celebrities, including Estée Lauder, Hyatt, Marriott, “so many porn ‘studios’ (nearly all @deciem employees, according to Truaxe) RBC, BMO, Ben Affleck, Brad Pitt and Steven Spielberg (just to name a few).
Judging by the brand’s website, all of its Canadian stores have been closed.
According to the bizarre post, the stores could reopen within two months.
