Mississauga residents who like to watch the planes come into Pearson Airport over a burger and fries have one less place to do it since a local Wendy’s closed its doors.

The Wendy’s at 6585 Airport Road in Mississauga flipped its last burger in October. The drive-through spot sat right across the road from Pearson, providing aerophiles with a comfortable joint to watch the planes come and go.

The 1.35-acre lot was often home to a host of plane spotters crowding into cars, burger in one hand and phone in another trying to get a glimpse of the planes.

The lot is now up for sale with an attached retail outlet. However, due to the proximity to the airport, it will likely remain a small building.

However, aeronautics fans will not have to go far to plane-watch. Fresh Burger is still onsite with one of their eight locations.
