New vintage cafe debuts in trendy Toronto neighbourhood

A cherished neighbourhood cafe in Toronto has returned with a new name, look, and vintage corner.

Emily Rose — a community hub in the heart of The Annex — announced late last year that it would be ending its run in the historic Toronto neighbourhood, while passing the torch to new ownership.

While this came as sad news to locals, Not Forgotten, a vintage pop-up that frequently operated out of Emily Rose, indicated in a social media post that they would be taking over the show.

“I’m so excited to share that I’ll be taking over the café space! This place has always felt like home — I grew up in the neighbourhood, went to school just across the street, and have loved being part of this community for as long as I can remember,” read an Instagram post by Not Forgotten’s proprietor.

Now, to kick off the new year, the Yellow Flower has made its debut.

The new spot in the old Emily Rose is set to honour its legacy, as it will focus on top-shelf coffee, pastries, and access to quality vintage items.

For those exhausted by the wheel of Toronto’s constant closures, worry not, as the Yellow Flower is maintaining its community focus by keeping its menu and staff unchanged from its previous set-up.

“Not to worry – our team, coffee and menu have not changed. So come on by this week, say hi and check out our new digs! We’d love to have you,” read the official Instagram post tied to the Yellow Flower’s debut.

Yellow Flower cafe can be found on 721 Palmerston Ave in The Annex.
