New jazz club opens doors on Toronto's busiest strip for night-life

A jazz club specializing in cocktails has just opened in a popular Toronto neighborhood.

Small Talk, which opened on Sept. 11, took to Instagram to announce its arrival on Ossington Avenue.

Based on the post, the new location functions as a throwback lounge that specializes in live music, world-class cocktails, and a menu designed by Chef Afrim Pristine, proprietor of Toronto’s iconic Cheese Boutique.

Highlighted fare includes specific bar snack/cocktail pairings, such as truffle-washed in-house potato chips and blue cheese-stuffed olives paired with gin.

Taking cues from the 1950s, Small Talk’s mission statement claims it is built as an “intimate, low-lit escape from the city’s buzz.”

During the club’s schedule, both live jazz and a rotating roster of DJs will take the stage to inject some new ambiance into Toronto’s go-to spot for nightlife.

Also, to add to the old-timey edge, the venue will be offering a “mickey bottle service,” where patrons can slam boozy miniatures akin to those on airplane or hotel mini-fridges, further adding to what the location describes as “drinking with intent.”

Small Talk is located at 110 Ossington Avenue, and is open Thursdays to Sundays from 5 p.m. to late-night hours.
