A new Vietnamese restaurant and cafe has taken over the spot once occupied by an objectively adorable pig-themed poke joint.
Cafe Xin Chao, a Vietnamese and Asian fusion resto, recently opened up in the Gerrard and Majory Avenue area.
Located in the city’s east end, the cafe has taken over the spot that once belonged to Leni Poke, a unique spot that served Hawaiian poke bowls and a slew of inventive pig-shaped and themed meals and desserts (think milkshakes with pig jellies and rice made into the shape of, you guessed it, a precious piggy).
As far as food goes, the new cafe and restaurant offers a wide array of Vietnamese and Asian dishes, including bánh mì (made with grilled pork, grilled beef, chicken, pate and more), poke bowls (tuna, salmon and tofu varieties are available), pho, rice dishes, vermicelli dishes and more.
The cafe also offers a ton of beverages, including Vietnamese milk coffee, flavoured Viet lattes, coconut slushy coffees, cappuccinos and frappucinos.
Teas and desserts are also available.
