Shoppers who live in Oakville and west Mississauga will soon have another major grocery store to choose from.
This week, a popular grocery chain that recently opened a brand new location in downtown Toronto, announced it has another new store in the pipeline.
T&T, the largest Asian grocery chain in Canada, plans to open a store at 3055 Vega Boulevard. The new store will be located in the Dundas Street West and Hwy 403 area, right at the Oakville and Mississauga border, next to the existing LA Fitness (which, once upon a time, was a busy Silvercity movie theatre).
The new store will span 40,000 square feet and will mark the brand’s second Mississauga outpost.
“This location has been a long time coming,” said Tina Lee, CEO of T&T, in a news release.
“We’ve been looking to serve the Oakville community for a while now, and we have finally found a great location that will do that and more. Right now, we have customers on the west end driving over 30 mins to shop at our T&T at Central Parkway. With this new T&T, we’ll be able to serve not only Oakville, but also Milton, Burlington and beyond.”
In a statement, Lee said T&T will build the new Erin Mills store from scratch.
“This is a ground-up build, so it’ll take us a bit longer to get the store ready. Our customers are excited, we’re excited – we’ll try to bring the T&T experience to these customers as soon as we can!”
In a news release, the brand said the new location will offer the full range of T&T’s assortment and offer local products for the Southeast Asian community, such as Lucky Me instant noodles and Jack & Jill Chips.
The store will also offer popular street food items, including Chinese crepes, popcorn chicken, and sticky rice wraps. Customers will also be able to purchase fresh produce, live seafood, baked goods, skincare products and in-store prepared foods.
The brand says the store will create 120 jobs.
It is slated to open summer 2026.
