Massive street festival for all things garlic coming to Toronto

A sprawling food festival is coming to Toronto with a huge focus on garlic.

The Toronto Garlic Festival, which is entering its fourteenth year in operation, is set to kick off in the Annex, at Dupont by the Castle this weekend.

Guests who attend the event will be treated to a massive selection of fresh locally grown garlic from multiple vendors, garlic-heavy foods, and even, for those brave enough, garlic shots.

Live performances will be occurring throughout the day’s schedule, as well as guest speakers who will highlight the garlic bulb’s prevalence and importance in not just cuisine but also numerous cultures worldwide.

Also, there will be a vampire costume contest, because, well, garlic.

The Toronto Garlic Festival is set to kick off autumn with maximum flavour and will run this Sunday, Sept. 28, in and around Dupont Station.
