A longtime Mississauga specialty burger shop has closed and will reopen at a new location.

Five Guys, which has stood on the corner of Erin Mills Parkway and The Collegeway in the outer part of South Common Mall, closed down at the beginning of the month after more than a decade of serving customers.

A sign posted on the door of the popular burger franchise announced the closing.

However, Five Guys says they have found a new spot, not too far away, but technically in Oakville.

The new location will be on the south side of Dundas Street at Winston Park Drive in the Best Buy plaza. It will occupy the spot vacated recently by Blaze Pizza.

The Oakville location is expected to open in December.

A chain with more than 1,500 stores worldwide, the new Five Guys store will be the first Oakville location.

The only Mississauga location for Five Guys is now at Heartland Town Centre at Mavis Road and Britannia Road (also in a Best Buy plaza).

Five Guys is famous for its made-to-order burgers, hot dogs, fries and classic shakes.
