Long-awaited Pub by celebrity chef to open its doors in the GTA

The opening day for a long-awaited restaurant in the GTA has finally been revealed.

Today, in an official Instagram post, The Iron Cow Public House announced that it will be officially opening its doors to the public next week.

This new spot —situated in Hamilton’s brand-new TD Coliseum — is the by-product of the $290 million facility’s partnership with beloved hometown hero, celebrity chef Matty Matheson, who has roots in southern Ontario.

Matheson, best known for his involvement in the Emmy award-winning TV series The Bear, operates several restaurants in the GTA, including Prime Seafood Palace, Maker Pizza, and Matty’s Patty’s in Toronto and Rizzo’s House of Parm in Fort Erie.

Recently, Matheson’s professional endeavours have been in the spotlight, as his East Coast-inspired location, Bar Clams, abruptly closed in Toronto last month.

However, Matheson’s hospitality company (Our House H.C.) has indicated that The Iron Cow will feature a selection of menu items from a variety of Matheson’s restaurants.

Matheson stated to the press back in the summer, “We’re building something special for Hamilton, and I’m pumped for you to see this come together.”

The Iron Cow Public House is set to open next week, on Dec. 8, in Hamilton.
