Hamiltonians can now embark on a journey through the diverse flavors and rich traditions of India at the upcoming “Spices of India 2023” food festival.
Scheduled to take place from Sept. 2- 3 at Pier 4 in Bayfront Park, this event promises to be an immersive experience for both food enthusiasts and culture aficionados, according to organizers.
Spanning from 1 p.m.- 11 p.m., “Spices of India” will showcase an assortment of Indian street food, by the city’s Indian restaurants. With a repertoire of over 200 dishes, attendees will have the opportunity to indulge in a wide array of flavors, each representing the unique culinary heritage of India.
The festival will also showcase cultural performances that celebrate the diverse traditions of India.
“Visitors will get to experience dances, musical performances, and even the resonating beats of the Indian instrument, “Dhol,’ from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.,” said festival organizer Priyank Patel.
As the sun sets, the grounds will transform into an open-air ‘Garba’ space, a famed Indian folk dance.
“Attendees get to dance to the beats of live artists, immersing themselves in the spirit of the dance,” Patel added.
Additionally, a market will feature a collection of authentic Indian and handmade items, providing an opportunity for visitors to take home a piece of Indian culture.
Entry to this event is free and open to all.
