Iconic Toronto beer is getting a major makeover this summer

Toronto’s most popular drink of the summer is having a major makeover.

Jelly King, from the maestros at Bellwoods Brewing, is an iconic Toronto summer staple.

A dry-hopped sour ale that is famously loaded with notes of peach, tangerine, and grapefruit, whenever you see this beer being crushed on a patio, you know that Toronto’s summer season has officially kicked off.

While this celebrated drink has seen many incarnations — most recently becoming a slushy you can grab on the go — the beer brewing brain trust at Bellwoods has recently overhauled it into a brand new seltzer.

Launching this month, the new Jelly King seltzer is aiming to take all the punch of the iconic beer and overhaul it with real fruit flavours.

Options include tangerine grapefruit, raspberry lemon, pink lemonade, and tropical, with non-alcoholic options available.

Those looking to sample this new take on a modern Toronto classic can swing by the Bellwoods Brewing location on Ossington Ave on May 14.
