The world-famous Niagara Falls boat tours are pushing their season, for the first time, to the end of this year.
The iconic Voyage to the Falls Boat Tour, best known for taking guests right into the action at Niagara Falls, where guests can feel as much of the force of nature as possible, has announced that it will be extending operations to New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31).
According to tour officials, this extension is the first time in history that the tours have pushed this far into the year.
“Boat tours have been part of Niagara Falls’ history for over a century, but they’ve never stretched into the heart of winter,” says Mory DiMaurizio, Chief Operating Officer of City Cruises in Canada, in an official statement. “Extending to December 31st is truly a historic moment that redefines what visitors can expect when they come to the Falls.”
While this extension showcases the tour’s ambition, officials have deemed that if weather conditions pose any risk at all, these plans will be modified for passenger safety.
“Operating in December can bring the potential of unique conditions, from colder temperatures to variable water and weather conditions,” adds DiMaurizio. “Our team remains committed to guest safety, consistently taking all necessary precautions—including rescheduling tours when conditions aren’t ideal for operation.”
The schedule, as it currently stands, for late-season operations in December will run Friday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., while during the holiday week of Boxing Day to New Year’s Eve, tours will run daily.
