Iconic downtown Toronto pub closing after 80 years

A major Toronto institution is closing its doors after 80 years serving drinks downtown.

The Imperial Pub, a massive two-floor operation just off the famous Yonge and Dundas (now Sankofa) Square, has just posted on its website that it will be shutting its doors in Toronto after 81 years in operation.

According to the pub’s official website, the last call for The Imperial will be Nov. 15, 2025.

No news has been relayed on what will be replacing this location, if anything at all.

Ownership closed out the announcement by stating, “It has been an honour and a delight to serve you.”
