The weather might be feeling a little chillier, but make no mistake, it’s still summer and there are still festivals and events planned for the last few sunny days of the year–including a major craft beer festival.
The Etobicoke-based Great Lakes Brewery is hosting a two-session Brewed For You craft beer festival on Sunday, Aug. 24, at its west-end location (30 Queen Elizabeth Blvd). Featuring approximately 20 vendors, the festival will provide beer lovers with access to some of the best-known Ontario breweries, including Left Field, Old Flame, Camerons, Slake, Bellwoods, Mascot, Beaus, Indie Alehouse, Rainhard, and more.
While the beer will be the main event, the website indicates that food and music will also be part and parcel of the celebration.
According to the website, the first session of the day (12:30 to 3:30 p.m.) will feature a performance by Shanick Road. During the second session (5:30 to 8:30 p.m.), attendees can check out Discmen.
There will be pop-up food vendors and an all-day cookout.
The first session costs $30 and is open to families (children under 12 can attend for free if accompanied by an adult with a ticket). The second session, only open to attendees who are 19 or older, costs $45.
Passes come with a complimentary 12-ounce sampling mug, festival lanyard and a limited number of tokens.
Designated driver passes are also available for purchase and come with a complimentary non-alcoholic beverage.
A complimentary shuttle will make loops between The Brewery and Royal York Subway Station for those who need a ride.
