Travellers going to Toronto will soon be able to stay in a Hilton property that’s the first of its kind in Canada.
Recently, the world-famous hotel chain announced plans to open its first wellness-focused Tempo location near Pearson International Airport in Mississauga. Expected to open in 2028, the property will be developed by the Toronto-based Inspiration Group and, once finished, will feature 193 rooms, a coffee bar, a hydration bar, a fitness centre with Peloton bikes, a pool, meeting space and more.
“The introduction of Tempo by Hilton Toronto Airport represents an exciting milestone as we continue to bolster our offerings of world-class brands across Canada,” said Matt Wehling, senior vice president, development, U.S. & Canada, Hilton, in a statement.
“We are fortunate to collaborate with visionary in-market owners like Inspiration Group to propel our efforts to introduce new brands across the destination to meet the evolving needs of our guests.”
In a news release, Hilton said the new 16-storey hotel, designed by Khalsa Design, will be located 25 kilometres from downtown Toronto and will offer four suites and rooms with three ‘zones,’ including a dedicated Get Ready zone and spacious bathroom. The rooms will also feature blackout curtains and wireless phone chargers, and some will even offer Peloton equipment.
Visitors will have access to over 3,000 square feet of meeting space, including two ballrooms and four meeting rooms.
Once open, Tempo by Hilton Toronto Airport will also offer guests access to Hilton’s Spirited and Free-Spirited cocktail program.
Hilton currently operates more than 190 hotels across Canada.
