Fans of creatures of the night, especially the kind with sharp teeth, dangerously good looks and charm, are in for a treat.
A popular vampire series based on a bestselling book is filming its latest season and this time the blood trails lead straight to a city in Ontario.
Interview with the Vampire, adapted from Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles, first premiered in 2022 on AMC and now streams on AMC+.
The story reimagines the 1994 cult classic starring Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Kirsten Dunst and Antonio Banderas.
The series follows Louis de Pointe du Lac, a vampire now living in modern-day Dubai, who reveals his haunted life story to journalist Daniel Molloy.
His confession pulls viewers back to early 1900s New Orleans, where an encounter with the alluring and ruthless Lestat traps him in a cycle of blood, betrayal and complicated loyalty.
Unlike the movie, this version digs further into racial tension, power dynamics and the intense relationship that defined Rice’s original novels.
Production for season three already began in Mississauga on June 16 and will continue into the fall, wrapping up on Oct. 10.
A photo showing crew signs for “VAMP ” spotted on Edwards Boulevard in the Derry West area, north of Highway 401, was posted on X (formerly Twitter) by user Don Evans on June 18.
An account called Toronto Filming later reshared the post, confirming that “VAMP” is the code name for Interview with the Vampire, and added, “Fair warning… You’re about to get a lot of traffic” — referring to the post’s popularity online.
Among the cast, Jacob Anderson (Game of Thrones) returns as Louis, with Sam Reid (Lambs of God) as Lestat and Eric Bogosian (Succession) as Molloy. Assad Zaman, Bally Gill and Ben Daniels also appear in season three, while Delainey Hayles (Claudia) and Roxane Duran (Madeleine) are not expected to return after the events of season two.
While season three is anticipated to release sometime in 2026, anyone in the area might be lucky enough to spot the cast drifting in and out of character or catch a behind-the-scenes glimpse before it hits screens.
