Toronto's best dog-friendly patios

The dog days of summer are here, and we have Toronto’s most dog-friendly patios to celebrate.

To commemorate International Dog Day, set for next Tuesday, Aug 26, dining experts at OpenTable recently posted some of the best outdoor dining spots in the entire country.

While there are many reasons to love this list of 100 sunny side locales, five Toronto establishments that offer exquisite vibes and atmosphere for you and your pooch were highlighted in the process.

Cluny

This restaurant, built on the pillars of French dining in the Distillery District, may appear fancy for just you and your best four-legged pal.

But fear not, as this location has a dog-friendly outdoor space for everyone’s special show dog, for brunch, dinner, or a mid-walk stop for an elegant snack and prosecco.

Parallel

Just a little north of Dupont and Dufferin, this spot is the perfect place to grab some iconic Middle Eastern staples like falafel and tabouli.

It is also the perfect place to hang out outside with your dog after a summer day and catch some sun, and enjoy what many say is some of the best Middle Eastern food in the city.

El Catrin

Another Distillery District favourite, this location hosts Canada’s largest selection of mezcal and tequila.

Better yet, while you are wetting your whistle with the robust selections behind the bar — and some great food too — your dog will be just as happy by your side on their massive patio.

Simoana

Shifting gears towards the Harbourfront area, Simoana excels at tranquil vibes next to the water, alongside some amazingly dynamic Sicilian fare, such as their iconic braised wagyu gnocchi.

If you’re looking for a relaxed environment to hear the waves crash with your dog, there’s no better place in Toronto.

La Vecchia

Leaving Toronto proper, we are closing out the best dog-friendly patios with La Vecchia in Etobicoke.

Their lakeside patio is the perfect place to wrap up summer with your best boy — or girl — and enjoy a relaxing sunset in this well-kept culinary secret for some Italian food in the GTA.
