The pair will star in an independent feature, Apparatus, which is a comedy thriller from Canadian writer-director Sofia Banzhaf about a struggling rideshare driver (Williams) who falls under the influence of an entrepreneur (O’Brien), IMDb says.

The entrepreneur offers him a future in the handheld-massager business. The dream opportunity unravels as he is pulled into a downward spiral.

Williams shot to fame in the Crave series Heated Rivalry, which tells the love story of hockey stars Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, based on a series of romance novels by Nova Scotia’s Rachel Reid.

O’Brien is known for The Maze Runner films and MTV’s Teen Wolf series. He recently starred in Send Help, opposite Rachel McAdams, and Anniversary.

Photos and video of Williams and O’Brien captured the pair in front of a garage in Stoney Creek on set last week.

While some posts and articles indicate the photos are from Toronto, it appears they are actually at McDougall’s Garage in Stoney Creek, a Reddit post notes.

“I live here and watched the filming the other day,” the poster said.

A comparison of Google images of McDougall’s Garage and the filming shots show that these photos were likely in Stoney Creek.

Toronto area filming dates are from March 30 to May 12, 2026, according to Hollywood Buzz North.
