Looking for a meaningful way to showcase your creativity and stand as an ally for the Pride community?

Hamilton Porch Pride, a community driven initiative by ‘Queer with Kids’ returns this Saturday (June 17).

It aims to promote solidarity, support, and celebrate the 2SLGBTQAI+ community by encouraging friends, family, and neighbours to decorate their neighborhoods in vibrant rainbow colors.

“From 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., residents of Hamilton and surrounding areas are invited to adorn their front yards, balconies, and windows with rainbows, chalk drawings and pictures that represent the Pride community,” Queer with Kids said in their social media post.

The event organizers hope that with enough participation and effort they’d be able to cover entire blocks in a ‘beautiful tapestry of colours.’

To ensure the safety of all involved, Queer with Kids emphasized that trespassing on properties is prohibited and people should participate only if they feel safe in doing so.

If you want your house, building, or business to be included on the Rainbow map, send your address (or street with the closest intersection) to [email protected].

The Rainbow map will be released on the morning of June 17th, showcasing the participating locations and allowing people to explore displays across the city.
