First snow of the season could arrive this weekend in Toronto

Snow is forecast in the Greater Toronto Area this weekend.

While it won’t likely be much, it could be the first snowfall of the 2025-26 season. Winter doesn’t officially arrive until Dec. 21, but it’s not unusual to see some of the white stuff in November.

This weekend’s forecast includes a mix of rain and snow with colder temperatures than experienced this week.

On Friday, a high of 11 C and a low of 5 C is expected with periods of rain throughout the day, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Saturday’s high could hit 7 C with cloudy skies. In the evening, temperatures could drop to -1 C with a 30 per cent chance of rain or snow.

A high of only 2 C is forecast for Sunday with snow or rain during the day. With the wind chill, it could feel like -3 C, according to the Weather Network.

The Weather Network is forecasting about 1 cm of snow on Sunday afternoon.

The temperature is expected to drop to -3 C in the evening, with the wind chill, it could feel like -5 C. There is a 60 per cent chance of rain or flurries Sunday evening.
