Fireworks and holidays lights set for famous Ontario tourist spot

A holiday spectacle involving 3 million lights and fireworks is returning to this world-famous Ontario tourist spot.

Niagara City Cruises, a staple of the Niagara Falls region, is collaborating with the city’s Winter Festival of Lights, which incorporates millions of lights over 75 complex displays across the area.

From Nov. 15 to 29, on both Friday and Saturday nights, scheduled cruises will depart under the falls at 7:30 p.m. in order to showcase not only the natural majesty of the falls, but also the lights of the city as they cut through water and mist.

“Bringing together two of Niagara Falls’ most iconic attractions creates an experience that highlights the city’s winter charm while boosting tourism during the season,” said Mory DiMaurizio, Chief Operating Officer of City Cruises Canada, in an official statement. “It’s a chance for visitors to see the Falls like before, combining the thrill of the boat ride with the magic of millions of twinkling lights for a truly unforgettable holiday experience.”

On top of the spectacle brought on by the Winter Festival of Lights, throughout the weekend event schedule, fireworks are supposed to accompany every boat tour, celebrating both the region and its place in Ontario’s holiday season.

“Niagara Falls in winter offers a distinctive blend of frozen beauty and tranquillity,” adds DiMaurizio. “The crisp air carries a sense of awe, and combined with our iconic landmark, the sparkling lights create a unique and enchanting kind of magic.”
