Downtown Toronto's top food hub to open new additions in 2026

One of Toronto’s top destinations for food is getting some new additions in the new year.

The Waterworks Foodhall, known as a key downtown spot for numerous culinary staples, as well as a massive outdoor space in the summer, has just announced that three new restaurants will set the tone for 2026.

Current players already on the scene in the famously renovated City of Toronto machine shop include Harry’s Charbroiled, Grape Witches, Rasta Pasta, and Aburi Sushi.

According to representatives, these new additions will be Bello Pizza, Darna Middle Eastern Cuisine, and Union Chicken.

Bello Pizza, with premises quality slices built on a foundation of slow-fermented dough, while Darna will be offering dynamic Middle Eastern cuisine specializing in charcoal-grilled meats.

As for Union Chicken, this new player in the expansive landscape of Toronto’s fried chicken scene will be serving piping hot fried chicken sandwiches, as well as the all-time brunch classic, chicken and waffles.

“At Waterworks, our vision has always been to create Canada’s most elevated heritage food hall experience and redefine what a culinary destination can be,” said Stratton Townley, Vice President, Investments & Corporate Strategy at Woodcliffe Landmark Properties, in an official statement.

All three new additions are set to launch in the Waterworks Foodhall in 2026.
