“I’m still in shock but knew this day would come one day,” the post on Instagram reads. “The building has sold and our last day at this location will be Wednesday November 26th. People can reach out to me for dill sauce and catering thru the website or Instagram.”

The restaurant serves Eastern European food in a casual setting. The sign on the two-storey brick building in south Etobicoke is written in gothic-style calligraphy, giving the place an old-fashion look.

The menu includes a variety of schnitzel dishes and sandwiches. Pierogi, goulash and a Slovak feast are also on the menu.

The place has been a long-time staple of the community.

“I am so grateful and thankful for all the business over the years,” the owner posted. “I will definitely miss a lot of my customers. I’ve seen kids grow up into grown ups with kids of their own. 22 years of great business that I give thanks to god for everyday!”

V’s Schnitzel House has many good reviews.

“Best schnitzel and Hungarian goulash we have ever eaten,” one happy customer posted on Google reviews. “Small place to eat in but they also provide takeout.”

“Always fresh fabulous food, and that dill sauce so yummy,” another said. “Always my go to place for good home cooked food.”

But it may not be the end for schnitzel fans — the owner indicated possible future plans.

“It’s not over it’s a new beginning,” the post read.
