It’s the end of an era for one of the oldest Japanese sushi restaurants in Mississauga.

Those who love dining out and eating sushi have probably been to or at least heard of Sehmi Japanese Restaurant.

The restaurant, which was located at 3015 Winston Churchill Blvd unit 3 for over 15 years, was known for its Japanese staples and creative rolls.

An employee from Sehmi Japanese Restaurant told insauga.com that the restaurant officially closed on Mar. 12, 2023.

The restaurant was best known for its sushi, sashimi and maki rolls, bowls, teriyaki dishes and appetizers including soups and salads, tempura, spring rolls and sushi pizza.

The restaurant was also known for offering sushi and sashimi trays which were a great option for families or those dining in groups.

A Reddit thread about the closure has garnered several comments from users expressing their disappointment in the news.

“I genuinely felt sad,” wrote one user about the closure of the business.

And, over the years, the restaurant garnered several positive reviews online due to its fresh food, speedy service and friendly and attentive staff.

The same employee told insauga.com that a new Korean restaurant will be opening in its place. While there is no official opening date just yet, residents are encouraged to stay tuned.
