Closure: Chain burger joint closes down in Mississauga

After a decade long run, a popular chain burger joint flipped its last patty, at its Mississauga location.
Established in 2010 — Union Burger opened 12 storefronts across Canada, amongst adding Mississauga to its list of restaurants.
Located at 4188 Nikolay Rd right across the street from Sheridan College— Union Burger was ready for business in 2013 and quickly became the hang out spot for students.
The restaurants signature burger called the “All American” was made with two beef patties, American cheese, smoked bacon, onion rings, and was served with a side of onion rings or fries and a coke.
Comparable to similar places like Five Guys or Hero Burger this restaurant featured the same great taste at the fraction of the cost. A combo would have been as low as $11.99.
Union Burger also had a unique take when it came to their beverages. The restaurant had a machine called the “Coca Cola Freestyle.” — which had a touch screen that allowed customers to select from mixtures of flavours from Coca-Cola branded products that were then individually dispensed.
A Reddit thread about the closure has received attention from users. A few even took a moment to reflect on their past visits.
“I haven’t eaten there in a long time. I used to like the fact that they had one of those coke machines that let you add extra flavors,” wrote one user.
Another comment read, “Oh no” followed by a crying emoji. “Did they not have a really cheap meal deal.”
If you still want to try out Union Burger the nearest location is at 281 King Street West, in Kitchener.
