A one-of-a-kind, all-pink and completely Instagrammable cafe in Mississauga has closed its doors — at least for now.

Alaïa Cafe & Doughnuts opened in Square One just over a year ago, and made headlines for its unique pink interior.

The gourmet cafe, across from Moxie’s and beside Jollibee, was also known for its picturesque coffee drinks fluffy donuts with colourful toppings.

And they even created a special “Barbie Pink Drink” in July following the blockbuster Barbie movie starring Mississauga’s Simu Liu.

But Alaïa announced on Instagram that it would close on Aug. 31. The cafe has since been cleared out.

“As much as we regret to announce our current location of @alaia.cafe will be closing this week on August 31st, 2023,” the cafe wrote on Instagram on Aug. 29.

“We are a small female owned business and would like to thank everyone for their support, especially all our regular customers!”

The cafe was cleared out about a week ago.

The cafe explained that they were a one-year pop-up store in Square One and hinted that this is not the end.

“Don’t worry! MORE IS COMING!”

Several loyal customers expressed sadness about the closure.

“Nooo, this place is so nice and the food and drinks are so good,” one person wrote on Instagram.

“My best spot for cafe with a friend. So sad for the closing,” another wrote.

There is no further information on when or where the cafe will open again yet.

Fans will just have to wait and see.
